So here’s the deal. I am a starting singer/songwriter. or well. I’m trying to become one. I have been playing guitar for just four years now and started singing and writing songs about four months ago. I go to a school for musicians and I noticed I’m really behind on almost everybody but I’m doing everything I can to catch up.

Lately I’ve been really struggling with writing my own songs, especially the vocal parts. I learned that recording myself while writing songs is a method that really helps me and makes it easier for me to write lyrics. I can use recording gear on school, but I could really use proper recording gear at home. But good microphones are really expensive.

So I’m doing this “project” to make you able to donate me money. Money I will use for products related to my own music only! I know I won’t be able to raise enough money to actually buy good microphones, but every dollar helps.

But I don’t want to ask you for just money. So I’ll actually do something in return.

That’s it for now. It’s weird and somehow uncomfortable for me to receive money from people for my music. But if you like what I’m doing and you are willing to support me with some money, it can make things easier for me and I think it can help me improve.

update 5/24:
I want to thank everybody that supported me. your donations are really helpful! I bought a Blue Mikey microphone that makes it a lot easier for me to record on the go or quickly record ideas, I bought multiple sets of guitar strings and I paid my mom back for my Blue Baby Bottle Microphone.

Now here is the real update. I started private vocal lessons this week. And I feel like this is really going to help me, but it’s pretty expensive, my parents are willing to pay the first weeks for me and after that we may split the costs, but it’s still really expensive.

So from now on, all the money I get with my project will be used to pay my vocal lessons.
